10/2004:
Graduate engineer Martin Schachinger and Kai Malkwitz decide to set up a company based on their professional experience and knowledge of the European solar power market. The aim is to create a broad range of products by locating "available" module quotas.
12/2004:
pvXchange has been commercially unlimited following its entry in the commercial register in Berlin and its registration as a business on December 1st, 2004.
03/2005:
With a small network of competent customer consultants, pvXchange supplies photovoltaic products all over the world via the Internet.
06/2005:
The idea of a transparent trading platform on the Internet gains hold. Schachinger and Malkwitz hire Florian Meyer-Delpho to expand the company and drive its international expansion. The office in Cologne is opened shortly afterwards.
12/2005:
During its first year in operation of the limited company, the pvXchange team transacts so many solar modules that on average 1.000 systems can be installed on single family houses.
05/2006:
The number of orders grows steadily; pvXchange continually increases the number of its customer consultants.
12/2006:
pvXchange triples the transaction volume of the trading platform to 10.4 MWp compared to 2005.
08/2007:
pvXchange is now represented by employees or free trade agencies in many areas of Germany and Spain. There are customer consultants in France, Italy, China and the USA. Soon afterwards, pvXchange is also active in Portugal, Switzerland, the Czech Rep. and Greece.
12/2007:
The number of transacted solar modules increases considerably compared to the previous year again. The volume now is around 40 MWp.
01/2008:
pvXchange can announce its 2.000th member.
04/2008:
pvXchange continues to expand its team and transfers its offices to the centre of Berlin, not far from Potsdamer Platz.
11/2008:
Expansion in Cologne: The Cologne team, which has now grown to ten people, is moving to new premises located between the Stadtgarten (city park) and the northern part of the old city quarter.
12/2008:
This year, approximately 100 MWp were traded via pvXchange. This corresponds to a trading volume of approximately 300 million euros. A new record.
01/2009:
At the beginning of the year, the head office in Berlin is also relocating to a new office since company growth means that more space is needed. At the same time, there will also be greater investment in development of the US market.
