Cologne, November 3rd 2011 – pvXchange, the market leader in the online business-to-business brokerage of photovoltaic modules and inverters, continues to build a new management team. Peter Oertlin has joined pvXchange as Chief Technology Officer and Gerd Unger will manage the German market as the new Head of Sales.
Peter Oertlin, former CIO and Head of Western Europe for QXL Ricardo, one of the leading eCommerce web sites in Europe, headed the company’s platform development. After Peter managed QXL Ricardo through a period of tremendous growth, the company, then known as Tradus, was sold to Naspers for over USD 1 billion in March 2008.
Gerd Unger comes to pvXchange with more than 9 years of experience in different leadership positions at Avaya – one of the leading global providers of intelligent communication solutions for business. He successfully built and led several sales organizations in the German market for Avaya. Gerd Unger has extensive experience with direct and indirect B2B sales models and oversaw a sales team that generated annual revenues of ~EUR 90 million.
The professionalization of the sales team and the development of the next generation pvXchange platform will strengthen the company and position pvXchange for growth.
Along with the recent additions to the management team, pvXchange believes that centralizing its various departments will drive an improved customer experience. As a result the German market will be served from Cologne and the Berlin office will be closed. “We want to continuously improve the service we offer to our clients to strengthen our competitive position. We’ll do this by hiring excellent managers like Peter Oertlin and Gerd Unger – which makes me very proud – and by operating out of one location to leverage synergies between the major functions of the company.” says Michael Maximilian Mueller, Chief Executive Officer at pvXchange.
